HOW TO MAKE A GOOD CHIMARRÃO
WITH MADRUGADA BRAND ERVA-MATE

1 - Put a filter
in the bowl at the bottom of the bomba.(strawlike pump, usually made
of siver). |

5 - Pour hot
(but not boiling) Water into the part of the cuia that does not contain
erva-mate. |
|
|
2 - While the
water is heating prepare the cuia (drinking, gourd) bomba and erva-mate. |
|
6 - Close the
top opening of the bomba with a finger. Place the bomba on one side
of the cuia to gether with the erva-mate. Let the chimarrao sit for
several minutes so that the water can penetrate the erva-mate. |

3 - Put enough
erva-mate so thet the cuia is 2/3 full. |

7 - Bigin drinking
the chimarrão. Do not stir the bomba while drinking. |
|
|
4 - Place the
cuia at a 45 degree angle in order to settle the erva-mate on one
side. |
|
8 - A teakettle
is recommended to heat the water. Use a thrermos to keep the water
hot. After drinking the chimarrao, gently hand wash and dry the cuia,
the bomba and the filter. . |
